Treating housing as an asset class means that governments want to make it more expensive — if a government presided over a doubling in the price of food, it would be viewed as monstrous. If it doubles the price of housing, it it lionized for “increasing property values.”

Ms. Ensign co-hosts a podcast about Babylon 5, the first serialized novel-for-TV that I was aware of. It seemed groundbreaking at the time, though now it’s a standard format that’s given us awesome entertainment like Mad Men and Breaking Bad.
And this essay suggests that binge-watching-from-the-beginning shouldn’t be the default if you’re new to a serialized show.
