Imagine an American life so impoverished and simple that a check for $978.53 is a princely sum, riches above and beyond any dreams of avarice.
Now imagine an American life so wasteful as to blow through that check in a matter of hours, with nothing more to show for it than a handful of memories.
Some folks shouldn't be given their money in a lump sum like that. Makes some things difficult. Like eating on a regular basis. Or staying warm and dry in a city known for its rain and violent police force.
Pleased to meet you. I'm Tristian Peter Garrett. 36 years on this planet, most of them stuck (in several ways) in Portland, Oregon, in these United States of America.
