10,000

I hit 10,000 words tonight, only a day late. Stopped writing at 10,813.

My 10,000th word was "ears", as in:

"Suspicious, I went into the kitchen to pour a cup of coffee but kept my ears open."

Story's coming along nicely. His ears are open because I introduced a whole new conflict for my MC (main character) tonight.

Also found out that I'm apparently the only person in Portland who is using a strip club as a location. C'mon, Portlanders! Strip clubs are just as much a part of our city as the rain, coffee shops, and micro-brew beers!
