Stories
Why is it that stories in real life don't often turn out right?Fictional stories have rhythms and hooks and beginnings, middles and ends. They have protagonists, antagonists, major and minor characters. Sure, they have red herrings and wild goose chases, but eventually things get back on track and reach a satisfactory conclusion.
Stories in real life? No. Let's just say I'm still waiting for mine.

You're such a great pretender. That's why you're such a great writer.
What would you say to me if I had posted this?

Would you say, though, we almost expect our own life to be something of a page-turner? And although a story-teller can recreate our life-experiences in a good and interesting story, I wonder how much are expectations are raised because of what movies, plays, and television provide? The dialogue is perfect. The physical blocking is in synch. The audience doesn't even know what beats in a scene are, yet they just know when the story is missing them!
It almost sounds like we are egocentric in that way - wanting what we see within the world that appears flawless, to also be within us, eh?
Interesting idea, my friend! Thank you for the post!
