More than a feeling?
So, you believe in God because you "just feel" it to be true, no matter what? Why not apply that same standard to the rest of your life?
Be the cop who "just feels" someone to be guilty, no matter what! (I guess it won't matter if you plant the evidence because, hey, they're guilty!)
Be the doctor who "just feels" someone to be healthy, no matter what! (Or ill, for that matter...)
Be the spouse who thinks their significant other is perfectly moral... no matter what. (Hope you enjoy being a cuckold.)
Be the parent who thinks their children are perfect and responsible. (We all know how the preacher's kids turn out, don't we?)
Be the employee who thinks their bosses are correct, no matter what (you'll have a place in the Bush administration...)
And it's not a coincidence that all these examples are about people believing things about other people. Who do you think benefits from your "no matter what" feeling about God? That's right - other people.
Wake up!

Having a relationship with Christ is not about other people at all. In fact, it's about NOT putting your faith in other people. Unfortunately, we don't always get that right either.
"I believe in love because I just feel it to be true."
Thank you for your thoughts, my friend. Just looking at our conversation as an outside observer (which must have lead to this post), I find it particularly fascinating that more than beyond the crazy answers I provided, that it bothers you more I just wouldn't agree that you are right.
You are a very smart person. And I think you may be more well versed in the subject of science versus religon (as well as politics) than I. Further, because of your research, you presented a lot of good questions, many of those questions I was not able to answer to your liking. Or at all, for that matter (Those I will further look into myself).
Yet isn't it interesting just as much as I heard your indication to not start with proving faith by starting with a "God is real" first mentality, that looking into a world where entropy is the driving force from order, I perceive you to prefer to view evolution with a "science first" mentality.
Where both, in my understanding, provide many unanswered "flaws" to make sense to humans. When, what if this debate wasn't a dichotamy? What if God and science were both real enough to be one and the same (ie. God created science), and many of the questions man has are unanswerable (Who created God?) because we only see in a three (plus) dimensional universe?
No matter your counter-answer to this, our debate in faith versus science will forevermore discussed by figures smarter than you and, more than certainly, me.
Man, I love you like a brother! Thank you for your words and interest in this subject. I appreciate your insight and intelligent questions and statements, witty and/or poingant.
Yet I am unable to say God is not real.
