Less than a feeling
Or maybe your "feeling" about the existence of God is more like:- ...your feeling that you're standing on solid ground? The surface of the Earth is moving at over 1,037 MPH at the equator; about half that at the 45th parallel.
- ...your feeling that the Sun moves across the sky? The Sun is the central point in our solar system, due to its much larger mass compared to the satellites and planets that orbit it.
- ...your feeling of happiness and satisfaction upon eating a full meal? That single meal of a Big Mac, large fries, and large Coke contains 1420 calories - more than would be burned by over an hour of hard running for most people.
- ...the feeling of beauty at the twinkling of the stars in the night sky? The light from distant suns is steady; the twinkling effect is caused by shifts in the upper atmosphere.
- ...the feeling that the images on the movie screen are, well, moving? Projecting a series of still images faster than the eye/brain can process them results in the illusion of a moving image due to the effect known as persistence of vision.

Are you saying people's feelings can be right or wrong? There is a black or white to that in which we feel? Don't feelings come about from one's perception of an external experience? Can science really explain away someone's feeling? And is anyone qualified to judge if perceptions toward truth or one's faith are right or wrong?
Even if the Earth is spinning rapidly on its axis, doesn't the ground still feel solid because we, too, are traveling just at the same rate of speed from our standing point? Does that make my feeling any less right when I state, "This is solid ground."? Or any more wrong about the perception the sun, the feeling of happiness, of beauty?
Feelings are just feelings. I can feel happy, and no one outside of my mind and soul can discount my feeling, indicating I am not feeling happy. No one else felt my emotion based on whatever circumstance. The mind may want to justify them away, understand them ad nauseum, yet like faith, feelings are there - beyond the rationalized material evidence...
Just like how you may be feeling confused that someone like me can believe in a higher power.
